A team deployed from Tumbewa Rural Municipality today inspected drought-hit areas of the rural municipality in Panchthar.

The rural municipality had deployed the team after media published news about the problems faced by local farmers due to prolonged drought in Ward Nos 1, 2 and 3 of the rural municipality.

Rural Municipality Chair Hom Nath Thapa said farmers of the then Aangna and Mauwa VDCs Khairani, Hakpara, Sera and Chuwade had been affected the most. Rural municipality vice-chair, chief administrative officer, ward chair and people’s representatives also accompanied the monitoring team.
