Drought hits Jajarkot farmers
JAJARKOT: Drought has hit hard to the farmers of Jajarkot district, of late.
Due to the lack of irrigation system and no rainfall for long time, the wheat plants and vegetables have started to dry up in the farms, complained farmers.
Most of the winter crops have dried up for lack of water, informed Bishnu KC, a farmer from Khagenkot VDC-5 in the district.
The area has not witnessed rainfall since mid-August.
There was no sufficient production of the paddy and other summer crops earlier this year too in the area.
