The number of illegal drug users has increased in Lamjung of late.

According to District Police Office, Lamjung, 30 illegal drug users were arrested in the past 10 months of this fiscal.  Police said as many as four of the arrested were sent to jail while eight were released on bail.

Police arrested 17 smugglers in the fiscal 2018-19 in the district.

Of them, five were sent to jail while five were released on bail. Police said seven of them were released after they convinced police they would not be involved in illegal activities.

Likewise, police arrested 41 smugglers in the fiscal 2017-18. Of them, six were sent to jail and four were released on bail.

According to police statistics, marijuana and tablet users have increased in the district.

Police seized 1,110 pieces of tablets in the past 10 months of this current fiscal. Similarly, police seized 255 pieces of illegal tablets in the fiscal 2017-18 while 951 tablets had been seized in the fiscal 2016-17. Police also destroyed 29,408 marijuana plants in different places of the district this fiscal.
