Drugs dispatched to Bajura health post

Bajura, May 27

District Health Office Bajura today dispatched medicine to Bichhayan Health Post, which has been facing drug crunch for a long time now.

Dr Rupchandra Biswokarma, chief at the district health office, said his office had sent medicines to the health post after it was reported in the media the health facility was running even without jeevan jal. Biswokarma said different medicines, including cetamol, antibiotics, contraceptives were dispatched to the health post. “We were not informed by the health post about drug crunch. We have sent medicines that will reach the health post within a few days,” Biswokarma added.

Bichhayan Health Post is located in the remote part of the district. Phase Nepal, an NGO, had pledged to supply medicine to the health office for a year.

Dr Biswokarma said the health post faced drug scarcity due to apathy on the part of the NGO.

Locals of a dozen villages visit the health office.
