E-library set up in Lamjung school

With technical assistance of Nepal Library Foundation and former student society’s initiatives, an e-library was established in Adarsha Bal High School of Sundarbazaar Municipality in Lamjung.

According to the school head teacher Ram Krishna Bhandari, the e-library is available in 10 of the computers at the school.

“We have already bought 20 computers as we have been running campaigns to raise funds for this project ,” he informed. Bhandari said that a model library would be established after the e-library was fully set up in the school.

“We have spent Rs six lakhs on the establishment of an e-library and have begun to raise funds to install the CC Camera,” he added.

The school source said that the existing library and the e-library would be operated from a single room. The source further added that teaching-learning activities are being conducted through all 10 of the computers with email and internet facilities along with the e-library. As well, to ensure a more holistic way of learning, the school utilises projectors.

Meanwhile, the school administration said preparations to install CCTVs in grade IX and X classes were under way. The administration added that students would be greatly benefited; thus undoubtedly impacting their academics in a most positive manner.  It is said that the school alumni have been supportive of the cause right from the beginning.
