BARDIBAS: The East-West Highway remains blocked for vehicular transport since early this morning in Bardibas, as a result of floods in the Ratu River.

With the bridge over the river on the highway damaged since last monsoon, diversion was being used for traffic on the road section. However, floods triggered by heavy rainfall since 2:00 am today made it impossible for vehicles to cross the river, according to the Area Police Office Bardibas.

As a result, hundreds of passenger buses, transport carries, small vehicles remain stranded along with thousands of travelers, said Police Inspector Chandeswar Yadav.
