KALAIYA: Locals of Nijgadh, Bara disrupted the East West Highway on Thursday protesting the police inaction on an offending vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday.

According to the police, Bhava Nath Chaulagain, 45, died when a bus (Na 3 Kha 2611) hit him on a bridge in Bhamara, Bara.

The police released the bus on Wednesday after getting an assurance that Rs 5 lakh compensation would be paid to the family of the victim within 21 days.
