Repeated directives from district administartion office to eateries, hotels and restaurants to cover food made in bulk have fallen on deaf ears. The eateries are, frequently, even serving stale food. The DAO has all but thrown up its hands at its helplessness in enforcing the health and hygiene standards in eateries. There are around 300 such restaurants in Gaighat market area. The DAO has requested these restaurants innumerable times to keep their food hygienic.
