EC’s Asia Director in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, February 13:
European Commission’s Asia Director James Moran arrived here today to attend the meeting of the Nepal-EC joint commission beginning tomorrow.
Upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Moran said the meeting would discuss the issues related to development and peace process in Nepal. “We will see how we can contribute to the development here. We’ll talk about trade and finance as well,” said Moran. He said Nepal had high priority for EC, as it needed assistance to prepare for the constituent assembly elections. Moran expressed happiness as many of the EC’s projects had resumed.
Hira Bahadur Thapa, joint secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will chair the meeting of the Nepal-EC joint commission. The officials from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Supplies will also participate in the meeting.
