Education Minister leaves for China

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokhrel has left here today for Beijing, China to participate in the international conference on 'Artificial Intelligence and Education'.

The conference is co-organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

A total of 160 UNESCO member states, international organisations, and representatives from the AI industries will be attending the event taking place in Beijing from May 16 to 18.

The conference is expected to provide a platform for its participants to share experiences on the development of AI skills, to discuss about its utilisation in education and learning process in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focus on the promotion of equitable, inclusive and quality education.
