Mahendranagar, June 29:

The Kanchanpur District Forest Office (DFO) yesterday arrested eight Indian women with rare wild animal parts here.

Kabita, Pyatu, Nirmala, Ragini, Kattle, Janda, Sona and Malsundan, all residents of Hudsun Taluk Pachhiraj Purapost of Mysore district, were arrested from Mahendranagar bazaar and Bhagatpur, the Kanchanpur DFO said. Tiger claws, elephant tails, musk deer-pods and teeth of various wild animals were seized from them, DFO official Devesh Mani Tripathi said, adding that four men accompanying them fled.
