Eight hurt as four-wheeler plunges about 100m in Makawanpur


HETAUDA: As many as eight persons sustained injuries when a four-wheeler vehicle they were travelling on skidded off the road and fell below at Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6 in Makawanpur district today.

Of the injured, driver Sagar Khadka and front cabin passenger Rupa Chaulagain are in critical condition, said Dr Amardip Mandal of Bhimphedi Health Centre.

Similarly, Kinda Dahal, Srijana Chaulagain, Raj Kumar Ghalan, Jeevan Shah, Prakriti Manandhar and Bidur Dhimal received minor injuries in the accident and they have been brought to Hetauda for treatment, said Assistant Sub Inspector of police Bodh Prasad Yadav at the APO informed.

The accident took place when the vehicle (Na 1 Cha 1939) heading towards Kathmandu from Hetauda fell about 100 metres below the road at Chisapanigadhi today, injuring all eight persons aboard, according to the Bhimphedi-based Area Police Office.

The Tata Sumo vehicle ran over the edge of the road while giving a way to another vehicle coming from opposite direction, injured Dhimal informed.
