Eight, including three security personnel injured in Rukum

As many as five demonstrators and three police personnel were injured after a clash erupted between protesters and security personnel in Khalanga of Rukum today.

The district dwellers have been protesting for the last 16 days demanding inclusion of the district in province No 5 in a new federal model. As the agitation reached its climax and the situation went out of control, the local administration had clamped curfew order from yesterday until the next order in the district headquarter.

The clash erupted between protesters and police personnel after demonstrators defied the curfew order. The injured are receiving treatment at the local Community Hospital.
