Election materials reach Ramechhap voting centres

Election-related materials for the first phase local level elections slated for Sunday have reached all the voting centres of Ramechhap.

Chief Election Officer Kiran Prasad Siwakoti said the election office has completed necessary preparations to hold civic polls on Sunday in two municipalities and six rural municipalities of the district. He further informed that staffers deployed in Umakunda, Doramba, Gokulganga and Sunapati, among other rural municipalities, have also reached their respective polling centres.

Siwakoti said that the staffers, who were deployed to remote voting centres were sent off on Tuesday from Manthali, while staffers deployed to areas near  the district headquarters were sent yesterday.

The Election Officer’s office said that staffers have to reach voting centres 48 hours before and have to carry out some necessary procedures at the centres.

The office added that staffers would also distribute voters’ identity cards and issue some election related notices at the voting centres.
