Electoral activities pick up

Bajura, April 17

As the local level elections, which is scheduled for May 14, approaches, leaders of political parties are busy running campaigns across Bajura.

Leaders from different political parties have reached the villages to choose candidates to contest in the upcoming polls. The cadres have reached the villages to finalise their party’s candidates at ward, rural municipality and municipality levels. The central committee will decide on the candidate after the discussion over the name list recommended from the district committee and province committee.

The leaders of CPN-UML, Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre have been meeting with  cadres of their own party to recommend the right candidates for the local level elections. UML District Committee Secretary Baldev Regmi said that they have been holding discussion to choose the right candidates for the civic polls in ward committee, rural municipality and municipal committee.

Similarly, NC District WC Secretary Dipak Shah said that they have been shortlisting the best candidates for the polls. There are four municipalities and five rural municipalities in Bajura.
