Elephant inhabiting Parsa National Park kills man

PARSA: A man has been killed after being attacked by a wild elephant in Thori Rural Municipality of Parsa district this morning.

The victim who appeared to be in his mid-30s is yet to be identified. However, based on the clothes he wore, police have presumed that the deceased could be an Indian national.

He seemed mentally disturbed and was begging for a living, police said.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Rewati Dhakal at Parsa District Police Office (DPO), the elephant killed the man while he was sitting near Far LaneĀ in the outskirts of Parsa National Park today.

Until the filing of this report, preparations were underway to bring the body of the deceased to Birgunj for the postmortem.
