DADELDHURA: A girl suffering from malnutrition died for the want of treatment in Dadeldhura on Monday.

Police said the five-year-old Bina Dhami, daughter of Muna Dhami, of Chaukham-9 died of malnutrition at 10 am.

The girl weighed just five kg at the time of her death, informed a relative of the deceased, Janak Singh Dhami.

Bina, who looked emaciated since her birth, was admitted to the Dadeldhura Sub-Regional Hospital for treatment last month and referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment.

However, she died at her home as her family could not afford the treatment due to their poor economic condition.

Janak Singh added that the family had tried to raise funds for the treatment, but it went in vain.

The doctors had also suggested the family taking Bina to a nutrition rehabilitation home in Dhangadih, but due to their financial problems, they could not do so as well.

Muna's two other daughters and a son are in healthy condition.
