Emergency services resume
Dhangadhi, May 5:
Emergency services at the Seti Zonal Hospital (SZH) resumed today after a decision to set up a police post on the hospital premises. However, other services will not be resumed until those who assaulted a medical officer of the hospital, Dr JB Thapa, are caught and brought to book, hospital sources said.
Health workers of the hospital halted all services today after some relatives of a deceased person alleged yesterday that Dr Thapa did not provide treatment on time and assaulted him.
Emergency services resumed after a meeting last evening of the CDO, SZH administration and police chiefs decided to set up a police beat on the SZH premises.
Medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Shrawan Kumar Chaudhari, said: “We urged the administration and the police to set up the police post, as attacks on health workers in the hospital are increasing in frequency.”
CDO Ganesh Bahadur Khatri said: “We realised the need to set up a police beat in the hospital.”
