Endangered python found in Kanchanpur paddy field

KANCHANPUR: An endangered species of python was found in Musepani locality of Bedkot Municipality-6 in Kanchanpur district on Monday.

Rup Lal Chaudhary, a local villager informed the Area Forest Office, Brahmadev, after coming across the python in his paddy field. The python is seven feet in length and weighs six kilos, said forest ranger, Umesh Bahadur Singh of the Area Forest Office.

The nonvenomous snake was rescued by a team of rangers and taken to the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve. The forest office assumed that the python could have strayed out into the human settlement from Ganesh Community Forest in the vicinity.
