Explosive device found in Pokhara

POKHARA: An explosive device was found near Manav Adhikar Chok in Pokhara Metropolitan City-9 of Kaski district, Saturday morning.

A technical team of the Nepal Army defused the device, which was discovered on a road some 50 metres south of the Chok. The explosive was found wrapped inside a paper packet.

Locals had informed the police after they found a suspicious packet on the roadside at 7:00 in the morning, following which personnel from Nepal Police and Nepal Army cordoned off the area for protection. The device was defused one and a half hours later at 8:30 am.

Two days ago, on the day Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal had called a nation-wide bandh, an explosive device had been discovered and defused in an area closeby. An army personnel had sustanined injuries while defusing the device.
