The local residents of Shankarnagar Village Development Committee-3 handed over a man to the police while he was extorting money from a local on last night, Area Police Office in Butwal said.

The man had asked Rs 100,000 from Bhim Prasad Shris of Shankarnagar VDC-3 claiming himself to be a Maoist.

Shris gave him jewellry, as he did not have cash. The locals later informed the police and got the unidentified man arrested.
