BAJURA, JULY 25

Family of Saure Ukheda, hailing from Badimalika Municipality in Bajura district, is struggling to make ends meet.

Ukheda of Rila in the local level had been working as a security guard in India and returned to Nepal a month ago.

During course of his job, Ukheda lost one of his legs and an eye. There are three members in his family.

His elder son has been living in India and is not in touch with the family. Meanwhile, his three daughters have been married off in India while the middle son was lost in absence of medical treatment in India as well.

Currently, Ukheda has a wife and a 15 year old son. The family does not have a house and has been living under a shed without a roof. Acknowledging the family's dire situation, the ward office have provided them with a tarpaulin.

However, as the family has no food supplies, they are left to starve on certain days while on others they eat what is provided to them by the locals.

Saure Ukheda is learnt to be 78 years old while his wife who is ill and in need of treatment is 72 years old.

The family has also not been able to make citizenship as they fail to travel to district headquarters-- Martadi.

Similarly, Ukheda himself requires medical treatment for the removal of rod from his leg which was placed in course of treatment of his fractured leg.

The family is desperate and has appealed for help.
