Female tiger found dead in CNP

CHITWAN: A female tiger was found dead in Sauraha of Chitwan National Park (CNP) on Saturday morning.

The rare Royal Bengal tiger was found dead in Chisapani Ghol, south of Khorsoor, informed Dr Kamal Gaire, veterinarian doctor at CNP.

According to Gaire, the approximately three-year-old tiger was found half floating in the bank of Rapti River at 7:00 am today.

The infection to its injuries caused during a fight for food with another tiger might have been the cause of its death, informed police.

As per the latest counting, there are 120 tigers in CNP.
