BHOJPUR: Property worth around Rs 1.6 million was reduced to ashes when fire destroyed four houses in Kusaha-9 of Sunsari district on Wednesday.

According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, the fire that started from the house of Muntaz Ansari gutted the houses of Rajak Ansari, Kalmudin Ansari and Nausad Ansari in the area.

The fire was later taken under control with the help of locals and police personnel and a fire brigade.

The reason behind the fire was electric short circuit, police informed.
