Three houses gutted in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR: Property worth around Rs 1.6 million was gutted when three houses were engulfed in flames in Chitwan district on Monday evening.

The fire broke out from a wooden house belonging to Ramesh BK of Divyanagar in Bharatpur and spread to two houses in the neighbourhood, according to Divyanagar-based Area Police Office.

The fire was contained by the fire engines dispatched from Bharatpur, with the help of security personnel and local residents.

No human casualties and injuries to livestock have been reported in the incident.

In a separate incident, a house belonging to Sher Bahadur Pariyar at Dhailadhari in eastern Chitwan was destroyed after a fire broke out from a lighter spark used by a kid yesterday.

The fire gutted properties worth Rs 50,000, according to the Chitwan District Police Office.
