BHOJPUR: Property worth around Rs 2.5 million was reduced to cinders when fire engulfed two houses while celebrating Tihar festival in Morang and Dhankuta districts on Wednesday evening.

According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, cash and valuables worth Rs 1 million was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in the house of Dev Bikram Khatri in Babiyabirti, Morang district.

Similarly, property worth around Rs 1.5 million was gutted in a fire that broke out in the house of Sabir Bishwokarma in Mudebas, Dhankuta district.
