First meet demands, then seek support: NC veep

Syangja, May 18:

Nepali Congress (NC) vice-president Gopal Man Shrestha has said that his party would not join the new government if an agreement is not reached about the seven-point demands raised by the party.

He said this while speaking at a programme organised by the Nepali Congress Syangja district unit to feliciate Constituent Assembly (CA) members from the district yesterday.

“Maoists have not stopped violent activities and are attacking people with opinions other than theirs. This has raised doubts about the Maoists,” he said.

NC is against the establishment of another form of dictatorship after the end of 240 years of autocracy, he said while urging all NC supporters to be united by forgetting all ill-experiences of the past.

Shrestha thanked all people of the district for electing him as a Constituent Assembly member

from Constituency No 2.

Minister of State for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Indra Bahadur Gurung also spoke.
