ITAHARI: Five persons were injured when the police opened fire at locals who tried to seize the guns at Chitaha VDC in Sunsari last night. A dispute over keeping a priest for a religious function took a nasty turn and resulted in a clash between local youths. Among the youths, some tried to overpower police personnel and seize their guns, said Superintendent of Police Rajendra Man Shrestha. Bhikhan Mandal of Tanmuna-3 and Anoj Sah, Sambhu Sah, Gajendra Sah and Bishnu Dev Sah of Chitaha-5 were injured in firing. Injured are undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
