Five Nepali women rescued from Indian border in Ilam

KATHMANDU: Maiti Nepal has rescued five women who were being trafficked, from Pashupatinagar in Ilam district near the Indian border on Monday.

The women were rescued while they were being taken to India through Chabisse area close to the border, said the Maiti Nepal's coordinator in Pashupatinagar, Hom Dhakal.

All the rescued women hail from Uhiya of Gorkha district.

They had been lured with good employment opportunity in Kuwait and Pakistan, Dhakal added.

The women were rescued with the help of Indian police.

However, the traffickers could not be arrested as they had just told the women to come to India and meet them.
