Five Tanahun pharmacies shut, five others suspended

DAMAULI: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) under the Ministry of Health has directed the Tanahun District Administration Office to shut down five pharmacies and suspend five others.

The DDA has recently sent a letter to the DAO urging the closure and suspension after the drugstores were found running illegally.

Chief District Officer Deepak Subedi said that the pharmacies were booked as they failed to meet set criteria.

Action has been taken against them as some of them were unregistered while some were fleecing customers and some were selling expired drugs.

A monitoring team from the DDA had inspected pharmacies of the district few weeks back.

The DDA has ordered that Aakriti Medical Hall of Bandipur-6, Sahara Pharma and Purkot Medical Hall of Aabukhaireni-1, SP Agrovet of Aabukhaireni-3 and Chhimkeshwori General Hospital of Aabukhaireni-6 shut their businesses.
