PYUTHAN: A flash flood swept away a jeep carrying pilgrims in Bhingri-1 of Pyuthan, killing three on the spot and leaving others five injured.

The jeep (Ba 14 Cha 3839) was returning to Tulsipur of Dang from Swargadawari of Pyuthan when it met with the fatal accident.

The deceased have been identified as Ajita Khanal, Bimala Khanal and Sukhadev Khanal of Tulsipur-9, the police said.

All the dead are from the same family, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjit Singh Rathaur said.

The injured have been sent to Nepalgunj for medical treatment.
