Tanahun, July 15:

People here today urged for keeping relief material at hand in the event of any disaster, as the monsoon has already started.

This appeal was made in a meeting of pre-preparation committee chaired by the CDO and chairperson of the District Natural Disaster Relief Committee, Kashi Nath Marasini in Damauli today.

The meeting took several decisions, including urging the office of sub-division no-2 of the Water Induced Disaster Control (Pokhara) to provide 500 sets of fences to control flood and landslides and also asked the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Association and construction entrepreneurs to collect five jute sacks from each entrepreneur and keep these in their offices till next two months.

The meeting decided to urge the Drinking Water and Sanitation, District Health Office, Nepal

Red Cross Society, Rotary club, INGO Federation, Jaycee and Lions Club to provide immediate help in case of need.

The 17-member coordination committee has been formed under the chairmanship of CDO Marasini to provide quick relief. Members of security bodies, chiefs of offices, representatives of political parties, industrialists, and journalists attended t the committee’s meeting.
