FNJ condemns Maoist act

Kathmandu, March 27:

The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) today condemned the Maoists for giving ‘life threats’ to a dozen journalists. The FNJ termed it an an ‘irresponsible’ act. According to a press release issued here, the local journalists were participating in an interaction yesterday when the Maoists threatened to take their lives for publishing news against them.

“There are legal ways to disagree with the news published in newspapers,” it stated. The FNJ called on the government to ensure press freedom and security of journalists.
