Kathmandu, June 16:

The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) said today it would launch a protest programme if those private media houses which have hired journalists but have not paid them regularly, do not react in time.

The FNJ has given an ultimatum to reappoint those sacked and pay their dues by June 29. “We have been asking the government and the media houses to implement the Working Journalists’ Act. Their silence on the issue is not only objectionable but also unacceptable,” a press release issued said.
