FNJs plea to publicise report
KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) today demanded that the government publicise the report prepared by the committee formed to probe the murder of Kailali-based journalist Jagat Prasad Joshi one-and-a-half years ago.
It has asked the government to make public the committee's expenditure, to provide relief to Joshi's family and to take action against the culprits.
Issuing a press statement today, FNJ said the government had not provided the victim's family with the agreed relief of Rs 1 million. "It is unfortunate that the probe committee is paid a hefty sum but the victims have been deprived of relief," the release noted.
FNJ district chapters in the Far Western Region have started a protest to press the government.
