DAMAULI: Chairman of the Federation of Nepali Journalist Mahendra Bista said FNJ was committed to executing the Working Journalists' Act at the earliest.

Inaugurating the newly built building of Tanahun Chapter of FNJ in Damauli, FNJ Chair said failure to implement the Journalists' Act had frustrated the journos in the country.

Bista said the new statute should guarantee press freedom. "The new constitution should be progressive," Bista added. FNJ General Secretary Ujir Magar argued that changing society was unimaginable without guaranteeing right to expression.

At the programme, FNJ Chair Bista felicitated journalist Prem Paudel with Ran Bahadur Chijakumari Journalism Award.
