Food shortage in Humla

Humla, November 11:

People of Humla district have been facing shortage of food after the Sita Air stopped transporting food grain to the remote district. Sita Air had reached an agreement with the Nepal Food Corporation for transporting food.

Only 1,152 quintals of rice of the annual quota of 7,300 quintals has been transported to Humla, said Gore Rawat of Simkot-2. Sita Air brought only 16 quintals of rice to the district on October 29.

The rice should be transported on time or snowfall will affect food supply, said CDO Krishna Prasad Poudel.
