Forces arrest 3 Maoists for Diktel attack

Khotang, June 21:
Security forces have arrested three Maoists involved in the Sunday attack on Diktel bazaar, the district headquarters of Khotang. Those arrested are Yubaraj Tamang of Udayapur, Prem Sundar Rai of Khotang and Mandip Basnet of Paanchthar, according to security sources.
Meanwhile, the RNA’s Public Relations Directorate said, quoting local witnesses, that the bodies of 25 Maoists killed in the retaliation by the security forces and 50 others injured were carried away by the Maoists in doko or bamboo basket towards Dorpa of the district. Also today, a high-level security team inspected the damages inflicted at the district headquarters.
An HNS report from Damak said the bodies of APF head constables Dinesh Pandey and Hem Bahadur Subedi of Jhapa, and civil police constable, Bipul Thapa, of Damak-2 were cremated at Maikhola today. Another report from Lahan said two commoners were killed by unidentified gangs in two separate places in Siraha.
