Foreign interference rising: Bhattarai
KATHMANDU: Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Dr Baburam Bhattarai today said that his party was forced to concentrate on the movement of national independence as foreign interference was on the rise in the recent times.
"Now that the national security becoming the most pressing issue, we have focused our movement for safeguarding national independence," he said. Bhattarai also claimed that the basis of Nepali revolution was to end class-based, ethnicity-based, gender-based and region-based discriminations.
Barshaman Pun 'Ananta' said there was no alternative to revolt if the parties failed to draft the new constitution in time. Speaking on the occasion, UML leader Pradip Gyawali opined that the national independence could only be safeguarded by keeping both the neighbours — China and India — in equidistance.
