Foreign Minister Mahat meets UN Secretary-General

NEW YORK: Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat held a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday.

During the meeting, Minister Mahat, who is leading the Nepali delegation to the ongoing UNGA, briefed the Secretary-General Ban that the Constitution implementation was gaining momentum in the backdrop of an understanding among the political parties.

On the occasion, the United Nations Secretary-General expressed his joy at the completion of Nepal’s peace process and Constitution writing.

He also expressed his hope that the Nepal’s political parties and stakeholders would succeed in dealing with remaining task of the peace process.

Meanwhile, Minister Mahat also held a meeting with his Singaporean counterpart Dr Vivian Balakrishna.
