KATHMANDU, JULY 11

Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal has paid a courtesy call to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, in Tashkent on Monday.

The call was made with respect to International Conference on Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities. The meeting saw an exchange of views related to promotion of trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

Foreign Secretary Paudyal stated that the conference has provided useful opportunity for discussing connectivity and promoting economic relations between the two regions.

Head of Central Asia, West Asia and Africa Division at the Ministry, Joint Secretary Harishchandra Ghimire was among the participants of the meeting.

The Foreign Secretary arrived in Tashkent this morning leading the Nepali delegation to the conference. He was received by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Republic of Uzbekistan at Tashkent International Airport.
