Foundation for good governance being laid, says Prime Minister Oli
Kathmandu, May 23
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said the government would build a strong foundation to ensure a robust administrative system, good governance and rule of law in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the general council of the World Federation of Democratic Youths in Kathmandu, Oli said the government was focused on maintaining stability, peace, good governance, controlling corruption, ensuring social justice and equality, and fulfilling people’s aspiration for prosperity and development in line with the government’s slogan of ‘Prosperous Nepal Happy Nepalis’.
“Democracy is a system of the people, and the people must be sovereign. All our policies and programmes are for the people and social transformation,” he said.
Oli also said the government’s policies and programmes reflected the joint election manifesto of the left alliance which envisioned stability and prosperity of the country.
Oli urged youth leaders not to get provoked or carried away. “The youths should focus on real issues such as social security, social justice, equality and job opportunities. Our youths should be practical minded and work for prosperity,” he said.
The PM also suggested that the youth leaders should unite to achieve the nation’s aims and goals. “I hope this conference will be able to formulate correct working plan,” he said.
