Four arrested for swindling INRs 1.05 lakh via fake lottery schemes in Parsa

PARSA: Police in Parsa have made public four men arrested on the charge of cheating people via fake lottery schemes, amid a press conference today.

The arrestees — Akshay Kumar Chaurasiya, Yubaraj Paswaan, Bir Narayan Chaurasiya and Rahul Kumar Raut, all in 18-22 age group, from Birgunj Metropolitan City's ward no. 18-Nagawa, 16, 19 and 2-Chhapkaiya respectively — have been charged with swindling people out of thousands of rupees via lottery schemes.

It has been found during the investigations that they called their clients telling them that they had won INRs 2.5 million each through a lottery and asked them to deposit INRs 100,000 each in tax in the banks as specified by them.

They were arrested from Bhediyahi in the metropolis while withdrawing the money they had swindled out of a local resident, said Superintendent of Police Rewati Dhakal.

Police also confiscated Rs 100,500 in cash, four mobile phones, seven vouchers of IME and ATM cards of various banks from the arrestees.

Efforts were on to file a case against the frauds, said SP Dhakal.
