Four DAGs to retire today

Kathmandu, May 15:

Four Deputy Attorney Generals are set to take compulsory retirement tomorrow.

Drona Raj Regmi, Krishna Prasad Prasain, Narendra Prasad Pathak and Chet Nath Ghimire

began their career as government attorneys.

They are retiring in compliance with a legal provision that one should retire after the completion of a five-year tenure in a special class service at the gazetted level in bureaucracy. “I am preparing to start private legal practice,” Pathak told journalists.

Attorney General Yagya Murti Banjade, however, said he would appoint senior government attorneys to fill the vacancies by deputing them as acting DAGs.
