Four die in Palpa tipper fall

KATHMANDU: All four persons, including three of a family, who were critically injured in a tipper fall in Palpa district, succumbed to their injuries at a hospital in Butwal, the Palpa District Police said.

The victims are identified as tipper driver Puran Bahadur Saru, his wife Bal Kumari and their five-year-old son Hemesh, and the driver's assistant Prem Shah.

They were rescued from the incident site and taken to the Butwal-based Lumbini Zonal Hospital where they breathed their last, police said.

The tipper, which was heading to a limestone mine at Merek, had fell some 200 metres down the road at Bhalayabas in Tinau Rural Municipality-3 this afternoon.
