Siraha, September 5 As many as four doctors are set to file candidacies in Siraha Municipality from different political parties for the September 18 civic polls. Dr Subhash Yadav from the Nepali Congress is vying for the post of mayor while Dr Nabin Yadav and Dr Namita Yadav from the CPN-UML are going to contest the polls as mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates respectively. Similarly, Dr Dilip Saday is filing his candidacy for the post of mayor from Naya Shakti Party-Nepal, said Naya Shakti party Nepal Coordinator Jibachh Yadav. NC candidate Dr Subhash used to work in India before joining politics. He is the son of NC central treasurer Sitadevi Yadav. Of late, he has been more active in politics than in the medical sector. UML’s mayoral candidate Dr Nabin Yadav had been running a polyclinic in Siraha. He is the son of late UML leader Hemnarayan Yadav. Deputy mayoral candidate Dr Namita Yadav used to work at a private clinic in Janakpur. She is not a popular name in Siraha. Naya Shakti Party Nepal’s mayoral candidate Dr Dilip used to work at the District Health office Siraha. He resigned from his job yesterday to file candidacy for the mayoral post. He is not a popular name in politics either. Major parties, including the NC, CPN-MC, and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, have finalised their candidates as tomorrow is the day to file nominations. UML is yet to finalise the candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor for Dhangadi Municipality. It has picked candidates for all other local bodies in the district.
