HETAUNDA: Police on Wednesday said four persons including two Indian nationals were arrested in possession of 48 kg hashish from Ratamate of Hetaunda-17 in Makawanpur district. Acting on a tip-off, police had intercepted an India-registered Maruti Alto (HR 21 J 3932) at the Ratamate Checkpost and discovered the huge cache of drug strapped to doors and hidden under the seat. SP Basanta Kumar Lama said the suspects confessed that they were heading to India with the consignment from Thaha Area of Makawanpur district. The arrestees have been identified as 37-year-old Naresh Kumar and 52-year-old Bhagwan Das of Hisar in Haryana state in India, 30-year-old Paramatma Gosai of Birgunj-19 and 41-year-old Anil Swami of Birgunj-10. The District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Bam Dev Gautam said IRs 22,710 was also seized from the suspects. Meanwhile, police said the investigation is underway.
