Four persons arrested for stealing bikes made public in Chitwan

CHITWAN: Police in Chitwan district today made public four persons arrested on the charge of stealing motorcycles.

The arrestees have been identified as Basanta Kumar Gurung (28) of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-8, Melon Sunar (21) of Bharatpur-9, Shiva BK (18) of Bharatpur-11, and Navaraj Shrestha (37) of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-5 in Gorkha district, currently residing in Bharatpur-8.

Police arrested them from different places in the district while they were trying to sell three Pulsar motorcycles and a scooter.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Nanti Raj Gurung at Chitwan District Police Office (DPO), a case has been registered against them at the court.

They will be tried for theft as per the Muluki Ain Criminal (Code) Act, 2074 (2017), Chapter 20, Clause 242 and Sub-clause 2 that provisions to punish the offender with three-year imprisonment and a maximum fine of Rs 30,000.
