Four-wheeler vehicles prohibited on Mahakali Bridge

KANCHANPUR: The ban on operation of four-wheeler vehicles on Mahakali bridge is in effect today after level of water flow in the river increased.

As per the measurement taken at 8:00 am today, water current in the river was 144,870 cusecs. Four-wheelers are usually banned from operating on the bridge after the water flow in the river becomes more than 80,000 Cusecs.

The Indian side has been placing the ban on operation of vehicles on the bridge once the water discharge level in the river increases, citing the age of the bridge.

Meanwhile, vehicles have queued up on both ends of the bridge waiting for the water level in the river to decrease and for their turn to cross the bridge.
