Fuel will be imported via northern border: Maskey

DHUNCHE: Nepali Ambassador to China Dr Mahesh Maskey said that the petroleum products would be imported without any interruption from China in the days ahead.

Maskey informed that he would report the government to upgrade the road section as the road section was appropriate for ferrying the fuel through the Rasuwagadhi border point.

He had reached Rasuwagadhi last night from Beijing, Capital of the People's Republic of China.

Similarly, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jhabindra Aryal, said that the road section should be expanded and the Road Office should take initiative for the purpose.

He further added that they would suggest the government to prepare the long plan even to lay pipe line for the fuel supply as the fuel could be supplied through pipeline up to Nuwakot.

Maskey and Aryal took stock of the situation of the road from Chief of the District Police Office, Abadhesh Bista, Local Development Officer Bishnu Prasad Koirala and Chief District Officer Shiva Ram Gelal.

During the meeting with Aryal and Maskey, Koirala stressed on the need to allocate budget to speed up works to upgrade the road.

Likewise, three fuel-filled tankers reached Rasuwagadhi custom at Timure and nine tankers left for Kyirong of China on Sunday to collect the consignment of petrol, China had pledged to Nepal, said Bista.
